Unfortunately, this update arrived way later than expected. I had caught a nasty cold, which I’m still slowly recovering from. That being said, it’s better late than never. The first hotfix is out and fixes some of the weird AI behaviors, map glitches, and implements some of the backend for the new input system.
Game Improvements
- The new input system has been implemented into the game’s backend. Certain parts of the game are still using the old input system, while others (such as the map view) are using the new input system. While this change can’t be seen on the surface by most players, in future updates this implementation will be expanded upon to the rest of the game. As mentioned before, this will pave the way for controller support and custom key bindings.
- Additional localization for the community tab menu
Bug Fixes
AI
- Fixes an issue where certain soldier colliders were still present after they were killed. This led to some soldiers not attacking enemies that were right next to them with a clear line of sight because the corpse of another soldier was in the way.
- After successfully killing a target enemy while in the DEF_AttackWhileStanding behavioral state, soldiers would immediately switch to DEF_StandbyStandingIdle state even if there was an enemy already in their view. Soldiers now do an immediate enemy check to see if there are any other soldiers after killing another soldier before switching to the other state.
- AI would sometimes not search for a nearby enemy while in DEF_StandbyStandingIdle state because they were still targeting an enemy that was already dead. The AI now does a quick check to make sure that the soldier is dead and does a proper search for any nearby soldiers.
- AI previously would target the parent gameObject of an enemy soldier. They now instead target the body hitbox, making them a little more accurate (NOTE: This still does not fix the “going prone invincibility” glitch. That is caused by a bug in the movement system, which I’ll fix in the next hotfix.).
Maps
- Added an out-of-bounds area to the bottom of each map in the event the player somehow clips through the ground.
