Unsung Heroes 1898 takes you back to the Spanish-American War, a war covered in deception, sensational journalism, suppression, and the blood of those who fought for their country. Experience the major land battles of the war in the Cuban campaign. Fight on large scale maps, with non-linear objectives and hundreds of ways to play.

Play One, Control All

In Unsung Heroes 1898, every soldier, commanding officer, and artillery personnel can be played. With a tap of a button, you can switch at any time and play as whoever you want on the battlefield. Each military unit has their own gameplay quirks, benefits, and disadvantages. There are a near infinite number of ways to play the game - it’s up to you to decide how to be victorious.

Massive Battles, Pure Chaos

Every map is open for you to explore, discover, and fight. Each map is large in size, contains numerous objectives, and is littered with troops, some friendly and some not. 

History Retold

All weapons, maps, and characters are represented faithfully to their historical, real life counterparts. Experience and learn the story of America in 1898, the significant figures who guided the war, and the results of a country with imperialistic motives. 

Community Driven

Unsung Heroes 1898 is an Early Access title. The game features 3 firearms, 2 artillery weapons, and 3 maps, with more planned throughout Early Access development. Content will be guided based on community feedback. Listed below is the current roadmap for development. Once the game progresses into its second alpha version, Unsung Heroes development will continue on Steam.

NOTE: This game is in its very early stages of development. There are plenty of bugs and aspects of the game that will be improved. This game will receive numerous updates over the course of alpha 1 development. Feel free to provide feedback and report on any issues you find in the game. The best place to do this is on our Unsung Heroes 1898 Community Discord server: https://discord.com/invite/p8CA9qXgCN  . While the game is 100% free during alpha 1, donations help keep the lights on and speed up development  (donations are temporarily disabled). If you did donate $2 or more please let me know on our Discord, so I can give you a free code when the game goes on Steam (I'll be giving away a bunch of free codes, but I'd like to prioritize those who already contributed to development).

Install Instructions:

• Download the .zip file
• Place the file in a folder somewhere on your desktop
• Right click the file and select "extract here"
• Open the extracted folder
• Click on UnsungHeroes1898.exe (It may be inside a build name folder if not immediately visible.)

If you encounter issues with installation, please let me know on the Community Discord or in the comments below. Mac and Linux versions will be added in the future.
